All email programs, such as Outlook
Express, need the following settings configured in order to
work with your email account.
Incoming/POP3 Mail Server - This
is the name of the server that has your mailbox. This is
the server you connect to in order to download your email.
Your incoming/POP3 mail server will usually be named mail.domain.com,
where domain.com is your domain. |
Outgoing/SMTP
Mail Server - This is the name of the mailserver you
will use to send out your mail out. Your outgoing/SMTP mail
server will normally be the same as you incoming mailserver.
However, if you are unable to connect to our outgoing/SMTP
mailserver your ISP may block connections to remote SMTP
servers. In that case you will need to use your ISP's SMTP
server. (ISP's will block connections to remote SMTP servers
in order to reduce virsues and spam generated by hacked
computers on their networks. |
Username
- This is the full email address for the email account you
setup in your control panel. (example: name@yourdomain.com) |
Password
- This is the password for the email account you setup in
your control panel. |
SMTP
Authentication - Our outgoing/SMTP mailservers require
login and password authentication before they will allow
your email program to connect. All major email programs
have a setting that will allow you to turn on SMTP authentication.
Please consult the documentation of your e-mail program
to find out how to enable it. |
